Understanding Why LEGO Toys Are Popular
If you look at all the toys on the market today, one of the choices that continues to be at the top is Legos. Sure there are action figures, classic dolls, stuffed animals, cars and everything else, but with so many options it’s amazing we have a hard time choosing one for our child. Years ago it was a lot easier, because there wasn’t a broad spectrum.
People these days also have a little bit more awareness about wanting a toy that is going to be fun, but somewhat educational at the same time. Some of the problems that are also considered are how well the toy is made, how fast is it going to break, and cost. Even for smaller children you want to invoke a sense of imagination, education, and play all in one.
It’s one of the many reasons why LEGO Toys are still popular. When we were kids it was Lincoln Logs, but this spin-off has allowed for a healthy, strong, and durable product. Another benefit is that there are so many different things to do with them.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with LEGO they are one of the biggest manufacturers of building block toys. They come in many different sizes and shapes, as well as numerous theme sets, from hit movies, to cartoon series as well as many others. They even have a line of smaller child sized blocks, that are more than two inches in size to prevent swallowing. It is important to also note that many sets are for children 8 and older, such as the LEGO Star Wars Death Star.
Here is why Lego Toys are so popular such as the LEGO Death Star. For one, they eliminate many of the problems and concerns about children’s toys, breakage, materials, is it educational. It also addresses issues of boredom in many ways. It doesn’t come all pre-assemble, there are detailed color illustrations to put together the toy that is one the box. Then you have to arrange all the different sized parts into piles. Then put the toy together following simple easy instructions.
Kids have plenty to learn when they play with Legos. They are taught organization skills (separating pieces into piles), math (counting the pieces), and how to follow the instructions. If you allow them to create it on their own they will boost their self-esteem levels, feel more confident, and have the feeling of accomplishment. Then they get to play with it, and if the toy ever gets old they can create something new. So you never have to worry about boredom setting in, because they have the ability to build several different toys.
While Legos are extremely popular, you’ve probably heard of other options like Fisher Price and Duplo. If you want to mix and match these toys it’s fine, but you have to remember that they are not interchangeable. The majority of the companies out there in this industry won’t be compatible. The good news is; if you just stick with Legos you will have an extremely wide selection. In fact, you can even find the LEGO Death Star.
